Mr. Anil Harish, having B.A. (Hons.), LL.B. and LL.M. (University of Miami) degrees, is an Advocate by profession, and a partner of the Law Firm, D.M. Harish & Co. which was founded by his father, Late Mr. D.M. Harish. Mr. Anil Harish’s practice includes many diverse areas of the Law i.e. property, exchange control, Foreign Investments, Trusts, Wills and Indian and International Taxation. He has been the office bearer of some prominent Law Institutes and as a specialist in the field of Real Estate, he is on the ‘Advisory Board of the magazine ‘Property Scape’ and of the ‘Accommodation Times Institute of Real Estate Management.’ He has been ranked by the prestigious legal directory of Chambers & Partners as a leading Tax Lawyer having a solid clientele of both domestic and overseas organizations.

Mr. Anil Harish has authored several articles which have been published in the Times of India, Hindustan Times and several professional Journals.

Mr. Anil Harish is the Director of several prestigious Public Limited Companies including Hinduja Global Solutions Ltd., Hinduja Ventures Ltd., Future Enterprises Ltd., Oberoi Realty Ltd. and Blue Star Ltd.

Besides being Trustee of HSNC Board, Mr. Anil Harish is Trustee of several other Educational and Charitable Trusts i.e. D.M. Harish Foundation, The IndusInd Foundation, Rajni Patel Memorial Foundation and many more. Last but not the least, he is a most sought after Speaker in India and Abroad and has delivered speeches at prestigious events at Brussels, London, Dubai, Muscat and Jakarta besides being a regular Speaker on the Annual Budget.


Dr. Niranjan Hiranandani


Dr. Niranjan Hiranandani is the son of eminent ENT Surgeon and Padma Bhushan recipient Dr. L.H. Hiranandani, an icon in the field of medicine. From his early beginnings of teaching charted accountancy, Dr. Niranjan began his initial business by venturing into textiles with a weaving unit at Charkop in Kandivali in 1981. His first spark of recognition in the construction line came with their work in Versova, Andheri in the mid-eighties.

Dr. Niranjan Hiranandani completed his schooling from Campion School, Mumbai and graduated with a Bachelor of Commerce Degree (Hons.) with a distinction of standing Second in Mumbai University. Adding to his professional qualification, he completed his F.C.A. from the Institute of Charted Accountants of India. Dr. Niranjan Hiranandani has done his Doctorate in Philosophy on “Housing Revolution in India – Challenges and Prospects.”

Dr. Niranjan Hiranandani is the Managing Director of the Hiranandani Group of Companies. The Group is today considered as a producer of best quality housing and commercial premises in the country. Apart from construction, the group has diversified into education, horticulture, hospitality, entertainment and retail.

The transformation of a barren land in Powai from a lonely hillside quarry with about 20 trees to one that is bustling with activity, with over 200 acres of greenery, as well as top-of-the-line commercial, residential, recreational and educational facilities is something we all cherish.

Some of his past achievements include drafting the State Policy of Slum Rehabilitation in Mumbai designed to improve the wellbeing of over 6 million slum inhabitants; acting as trustee for the creation of Nathdwara Township as a heritage destination; serving on the board of the Housing and Urban Development Corporation (HUDCO), an organization which distributes US$ 3 billion per annum to help fund

the building of housing and habitat policy for low-income families; acting as an adviser to Government of India on housing and habitat policy for over a decade, and serving as Chairman of Housing Committee of the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI).

Mr Lal Chellaram


Mr. Lal Chellaram is one of the Trustees of HSNC Board. He was born in Hyderabad (Sind), in undivided India, completed his education in England, graduating in Economics from University of London. He is the grandson of Seth Kishinchand Chellaram. Seth Kishinchand Chellaram helped Principal Kundnani, the founding father of Hyderabad (Sind) National Collegiate Board, who along with Barrister Hotchand Advani, approached him for funds to establish a college in Mumbai after the partition of India. Seth Kishinchand Chellaram helped with the seed money by giving a donation and due to his magnanimous and timely help, the Board honoured him by naming two colleges after him i.e. Kishinchand Chellaram College and Kishinchand Chellaram Law College, both at Churchgate, established in 1954 and 1955 respectively. Today K.C. and K.C. Law college buildings stand as a fitting memorial to the revered memory of Seth Kishinchand Chellaram.

Mr. Lal Chellaram heads the Kishinchand Chellaram Educational Trust. For the past several decades the Trust has been helping thousands of needy children acquire higher education. Mr. Lal Chellaram established the Chellaram Foundation in India, a public charitable organisation, in loving memory of Late Kishinchand Chellaram and Bhai Lokumal Chellaram. Mr. Lal Chellaram is the chairman of 5 charity foundations across the globe.

Mr. Lal Chellaram has been at the helm of various companies in Hong Kong, Far East, India, UK, USA, Europe, Gibraltar, Japan and Africa during the last 4 decades.

Realizing the plight of millions of diabetic patients, he has established a multi-purpose, state-of-the-art Chellaram Diabetes Institute (CDI) in Pune – a private non-profit organization which is a unit of the Chellaram Foundation – with a vision to help expert medical and scientific researchers and Educators make an impact on diabetic treatment for the 80 million known Diabetics in India.

He is the Chairman of Chellaram Shipping. From their headquarters in Hong Kong – an international hub of maritime activity in the most dynamic region of the world – they provide full commercial, technical and crewing services using the latest IT and communications technology. Today Chellaram Shipping owns and manages a large fleet of modern and versatile dry-bulk carriers.

Mr. Kishu H. Mansukhani


Mr. Kishu H. Mansukhani was born in Karachi, then a part of India. His father, Diwan Hashmatrai Mansukhani was Assistant Commissioner of Income Tax, who resigned from his coveted post during freedom fighting – Quit India Movement.

Mr. Mansukhani is a Graduate in Mechanical Engineering and Management Studies from USA. He was selected as a member of small group to establish exports for Tata Group – Telco Exports, which later became Tata Exports. He was working with Tata Engineering Company (TELCO) in senior capacity, incharge of International Marketing of Tata vehicles, associate engineering products. During his 30 years tenure with Tata Group, he travelled nearly 100 countries in Middle East, South East Asia, Europe, Africa and South America. He established dealer network and branch offices for the group companies. Mr. Mansukhani created close working relationship with many foreign distinguished personalities including Presidents and Ministers. For recognition of his distinguished work in marketing of Tata Mercedes Benz products, he was given citation by German Chamber of Commerce. He is also a recipient of awards from Presidents of Uganda and Seychelles.

During Sixties and till late Eighties, when the exports of specialized engineering products from India were rare, Mr. Mansukhani as Head of Export Marketing of Tata Motors, pioneered export of Indian made engineering products, commercial vehicles, sophisticated heavy duty products and assisted in setting up projects overseas.

For his exemplary work , he was posted 7 years in New York, USA, as CEO, an International company under Tata Inc., NY. He finalized joint ventures for Tata Group and substantially helped in increasing export of Group’s products.

In USA, Mr. Mansukhani was very active in social and cultural activities, particularly with Indian community. He was one of the founder members for establishing New York-Asian-American Lions Club under the International Association of Lions Club. This Club was created by Mr. Mansukhani and his friends due to social discrimination of Indians in other Clubs. Similarly, he also actively took up strongly with Government of India for deleting words in Passport “Born in Pakistan” to “Then India / Undivided India”.

He served three terms President of Asian-American Lions Club and was appointed as Zone Chairman of New York and Bermuda Island Chapter. In recognition of his remarkable work for “Sight for Sightless” program he was honoured with award from District Governor of International Lions Club Association.

Mr. Mansukhani was active member of Association of Indians in America Inc., which organizes every year Deepavali Festival at famous South Sea Port of New York city. This festival attracted thousands of non-Indians and made them aware of the beauty of Indian culture and cuisine.

After returning from USA, he was invited by Pallonji Group to be Consultant for setting up Tata Motors Assembly products in Tehran, Iran.

Mr. Mansukhani started retail marketing and consultancy business in Pune, representing various international brands, which is currently managed by his son, Keshab.

He was invited to join HSNC Board in 1974. His family has been associated with Hyderabad (Sind) National College Board from its inception in Sindh and has contributed substantially to the Board. Smt. Chandibai Himathmal Mansukhani College named after his grandmother, is largest College in University of Mumbai. Another college, Mansukhani Institute of Management, is named after his father and uncle which is the only Post Graduate College under HSNC Board. His family has also contributed for establishment of various Libraries, Auditoriums and Primary & Secondary Schools of the HSNC Board, including land for CHM campus.

Mr. Mansukhani is actively involved in social and humanitarian activities in India and heads Charitable Trusts which have over the period of a quarter century assisted in rehabilitating many individuals and families through education.

Mr. Mansukhani is also associated with Sadhu Vaswani Mission and has felicitated to establish K.K. Eye Institute, Pune, which does research in their field and has conducted nearly 2 lakhs operations free of cost in Maharashtra and surrounding areas.

He is also founder member and three times President of International Sindhu Chamber of Commerce in Pune which was established with the blessings of Revered Dada Vaswani. The Chamber connects Business persons from all over the world.

Due to his social and humanitarian work, Dada Vaswani complimented him by writing to him “God needs instruments of help and healing in this world of tragedy and tears. I love to think of you as one such instrument.”

Mrs Maya Shahani


Maya Shahani is the Chairperson of the Shahani Group which focuses on promoting quality education through its Institutes. The Thadomal Shahani Centre for Management is affiliated to U.K. Universities and has won the DNA and CII awards for the best business school for industry-academic linkages. She is a Trustee of the Thadomal Shahani Trust, founded in 1952 by her late father-in-law Dada Kishinchand Thadomal Shahani, who was one of the prominent members of the HSNC Board after its inception.

She is also the Chairperson of the SAGE Foundation, which educates and empowers the under-resourced and works with the Clinton Global Initiative. The Foundation is an affiliate of Buy1Give1, a global organization which has donated thousands of dollars towards education and healthcare.

Ms Shahani is the Vice Chairperson of the Global Dialogue Foundation which works with the United Nations to bring in a culture of Peace through Dialogue. A patron of the Cancer Patient’s Aid Association, she has opened a Centre for the Early Detection of Cancer in the memory of her mother-in-law. She is the Patron Trustee of the Women’s Movement for Peace and Prosperity which gives a voice to the voiceless women.

Ms Shahani is the recipient of several awards such as the Glory of India (Gold Medalist) Award, Global Peace Award, the Jewel of India Award, the Jamnalal Bajaj Award, the Women Achievers Award, Bharat Jyoti Puraskar, the Entrepreneur Business School Award, the Clinton Global Initiative Certificate, Global Economic Summit Award, the Mahatma Gandhi Samman, presented at the British Parliament, House of Commons, and International Achiever’s Award at the International Summit at Tashkent.

With “Ethical Excellence” as her credo, she fulfils her duties with compassion, love and commitment.

Mr. Adhiraj A. Harish

Mr. Adhiraj Harish holds BMS (Bachelors of Management Studies), LLB (Bachelors of Laws) and LLM (Master of Laws) degrees from the University of Mumbai. He has successfully completed several courses including courses at the University of California, Berkeley, where he studied International Business and Marketing and a distance course on Intellectual Property Rights from the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO).

He has been practising as an Advocate at D.M. Harish & Co., Advocates, since

2011. His primary area of focus is Real Estate laws and he has been instrumental in the successful completion of numerous real estate transactions. In addition to Real Estate, Mr. Harish also practices in the areas of Wills and Succession and the laws and practices with respect to international investments under the Foreign Exchange Management Act, amongst others. He has co-authored a paper on Human Rights and Environment Law violations by Companies and presented the same at the National Seminar on Corporate Justice organized by the Indian Institute of Corporate Affairs.

Mr. Vandan Agrawal

Mr. Vandan Agrawal, born on 6th April 1965 is a Chartered Accountant by profession.
Did his Junior College from the Kishinchand Chellaram College, Mumbai.
Has worked in Senior Management positions in various National and International Shipping Companies in India and abroad, with specialization in Finance & Accounts, Taxation, Legal and General Administration.
Has been associated with Mr. Lal Chellaram’s Group since 1997 and is a Director in many of the Group Companies in India as well as Trustee in the Group’s Charitable Trusts and Foundations engaged in Educational and Health Care Related work.
Has a special interest in Music, Martial Arts, Astrology and is actively involved in various altruistic activities.
Is married and has two daughters.

Akhil Shahani is the Managing Director of The Shahani Group, which runs a range of colleges in areas like business, media, real estate, finance and others. His colleges incorporate global industry-oriented education systems that make their graduates truly employable. He is also a Venture Partner in Kaizen Private Equity, which is India’s first private equity fund focused solely on the education sector.

Akhil’s work in the non-profit space is also extensive, he is on the advisory board of Unltd India & IDOBRO, which are two incubators supporting social entrepreneurs. He is the Director of the SAGE Foundation & Trustee of The Shahani Trust, which both have a range of charitable initiatives in education. Akhil sits on the board of 28 iconic colleges in Mumbai.

Akhil is the recipient of many awards for his work in education like the Jamnalal Bajaj Award, Bharat Shiromani Award, PIMR Outstanding Educationist Award, Rex Karamveer Chakra Gold Award, the Bharat Gaurav Award and the Indira Gandhi Priyadarshini Award among others. Mrs. Vandana Desai

Vandana Berjis Desai graduated in commerce and studied law at the prestigious Government Law College, Mumbai. She practiced as a corporate lawyer with a large law firm.

Vandana left legal practice to edit the in-flight magazine of Jet Airways. She is also a trained Montessori teacher and holds diplomas in Advanced French from Alliance Francaise and in Travel & Tourism. She has done various certified workshops in cognitive and behavioral psychology with Sinara Education and Institute of Human Technology. She has often volunteered for NGOs like the Red Cross and Indian Association for Promotion of Adoption (IAPA) and was on the board of an orphanage run by the Rakesh Jhunjhunwala foundation.

Her eclectic interests include owning a stud farm at Pune and her race horses have set world records in thoroughbred racing.

Mr. Nanik Rupani

Nanik Rupani (born 1941) is an Indian Entrepreneur and Philanthropist who is the Chairman of Roopmeck Electricals Pvt. Ltd. He is also the Chairman Emeritus of Priyadarshni Academy, a prominent NGO which provides educational scholarships to needy and deserving students. They promote the Indian classical performing arts among the youth. Priyadarshni Academy has also presented literary awards in four Indian languages that spread ancient India’s wisdom to an international audience and holds a biennial Global Awards program which has been called by many Indian leaders as India’s Nobel Martin Luther King III who was an American awardee.

Darshan Hiranandani is the Managing Director of the $3billion Hiranandani Group, India’s largest residential developer. He heads the real estate operations in Dubai ( and is the Chief Executive Officer of the energy operations globally ( and plays an advisory role in the real-estate operations
in India.

The Dubai arm started by Darshan at the age of 23 has completed the world’s tallest residential building (400m tall) called 23 Marina.

H-Energy is beginning with a 4mmtpa Floating LNG terminal on the west coast of India and a 3mmtpa Floating LNG terminal on the East Coast in offshore West Bengal. These two projects involve an investment of USD 2 bn for the group. The company has also signed an agreement to set up a USD 3bn LNG liquefaction terminal in Eastern Canada. The objective is to be a substantial player in the Oil and Gas space.

Darshan also plays a key role in Hiranandani Communities LLP, Niranjan Hiranandani’s development arm for India projects. The real-estate arm is already committed to developing 100 million sq.ft. between its Chennai, Panvel and Alibaug townships.

Darshan has completed his MBA from Rochester Institute of Technology, (RIT) New York. Darshan serves as a Trustee of RIT, New York and on the Board of RIT Dubai.

Mrs. Kamal N. Hiranandani

Kamal Hiranandani, is a Director with the Hiranandani Group.  A businesswoman, she handles multifarious roles in the organisation.  Besides sales and administration, she participates in decisions on litigation, financial planning, and sale and land procurement. She is hands-on in areas of customer grievances and society related issues that need to be attended to and to be sorted out with legal, administrative and above all humanitarian approach.

Having travelled extensively around the world, her exposure to world economics, business nuances add value to her work profile.  A member of the YPO Gold Forum gives the advantage of networking both within the country and outside.

Mr. Washu P. Vasandani

Mr. Washu P Vasandani is a Finance and Accounts professional with over 45 year’s experience. Did his graduation from Mithibai Motiram Kundnani College of Commerce and Economics. Is an active member of an International NGO and takes a keen interest in social activities particularly poverty alleviation. Is also Managing Trustee of Sindhi Panchayat, Goregaon, Mumbai and also in the Committee of Western Suburban Sindhi Panchayat.

Has been associated with Mr. Lal Chellaram’s Group since last 45 years and is a Director in many of the Group Companies in India as well as Trustee in the Group’s Charitable Trusts and Foundations engaged in Educational and Health Care Related work.

Mr. Ranjit Shahani

Former Vice Chairman & Managing Director, Novartis India Limited, is a veteran in the healthcare industry who has served as the Managing Director and Country President of Novartis India Limited for 15 years. He has managed diverse boards, teams and organisations to drive strategic growth plans and delivered strong and successful business outcomes within complex environments. Very strong in advocacy and influencing policy changes.

Mr Shahani is immediate Past President, Swiss Indian Chamber of Commerce and has promoted strong ties between
Switzerland and India. He is President Emeritus of Organisation of Pharmaceuticals Producers of India (OPPI), also Past President of the Bombay Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and was on the Council of the International Federation of Pharmaceuticals Manufacturers Associations (IFPMA, Geneva).  He is a thought leader in the Pharmaceutical Industry and has been actively involved in advocating for a strong Product Patent law in the country and Data Protection and liberalization of the price control mechanism for Pharmaceuticals.  He has also strongly canvassed for deterrent
legislation against counterfeit drugs and liberalisation of FDI in the Pharmaceutical Industry. Mr Shahani is a Mechanical Engineer from IIT Kanpur and an MBA from Jamnalal Bajaj Institute of Management Studies.

Mr. Nihchal Israni

Mr.Nihchal Israni was born in Sind (now in Pakistan) in 1929 and migrated to India after partition in 1948.

After completing his Graduation in Economics from Poona University, Mr.Israni joined PFIZER Ltd. as a Commercial Assistant and in 10 years, became their first Indian Managing Director. During his term, Pfizer rose rapidly and became a public Company in India

To gain international experience, Mr.Israni joined Warner-Lambert / Warner-Hindustan Ltd. in 1966 – again as the first Indian Managing Director. He made Warner-Hindustan a public Company and their pharma. the business expanded rapidly. From 1973 – 1980 he was then re-located at Hong Kong and Tokyo as Warner Lambert International’s first Indian Regional President for Asia.

After travelling the world over and successful completion of 15 years with Warner-Lambert International, Mr.Israni decided to return to India at the age of 52 and set up his own professionally managed Pharma. Company – Blue Cross Laboratories Ltd. – with the ambitious goal of making world-class quality commonly used pharmaceuticals and marketing them at 20-40% lower prices which middle-class and weaker sections of society can afford. In fact, even Government price-controlled essential pharma. products are sold by Mr.Israni’s Company at 10-25% lower than controlled prices. This is because of the strict cost and expense controls exercised by Blue Cross and the close cooperation of many raw material suppliers.

Today, Mr.Israni’s Company has two modern Pharma. Plants and employs over 2200 young professionals all over India, who are constantly developed and progressing well along with his Company.

Mr.Israni was the President of Indian Drug Manufacturers’ Association (IDMA) for record 3 years. He has received several Life-Time Achievement and other Awards from IDMA, OPPI, Rotary and other professional/business organisations. Mr.Israni is a Board Member of HSNC Board which runs over 20 other well-known Colleges. He is an active Major Donor of Rotary. Mr.Israni supports many worthy causes of poor people in the fields of education, healthcare, skill-development, old age support, etc.

Mr.Israni has two grown-up sons doing well and many happy friends with whom he enjoys a good social life. His hobbies are philanthropy, youth development, fine arts and reading. He is 89 now, maintains good discipline and health and has no plans to retire!

Mrs. Anjula K Mansukhani

Mrs. Anjula K. Mansukhani is Graduate in Home Science & Economics from Lady Irwin College, Delhi.

She taught in College of Home Science, Nirmala Niketan in Mumbai.

After marriage, Mrs. Mansukhani relinquished the teaching job and joined the “Maharashtra State Womens’ Council” for voluntary social work. She was member of “Funds Committee” and “Street Children Project”. One of the Street Children’s Project was, involvement with traffic during the peak hours. The children, above 16 years old were placed to assist the pedestrian movement especially in the Churchgate area between 5 to 7 pm.

On Shri Gangaram H Mansukhani’s request, Mrs. Mansukhani assisted the family business, Navyug Leather Works, Retail Marketing and Exports of handmade leather foot wear. Here she worked for 2 decades. She monitored the quality control and design of hand made foot wear. During this period, Mrs. Mansukhani visited Ulhasnagar several times with Shri Gangaram Mansukhani, in early stages of setting up CHM Campus and CHM College, established with generosity and efforts of Shri Gangaram.

Mr. & Mrs. Mansukhani moved to Pune, where she started with Mr. Mansukhani and son Keshab a Retail Marketing business, representing various multi-national brands, managing chain of stores.

Currently, Mrs. Mansukhani is actively involved with two Charitable Trusts namely (1) Sounpibai & Hashmatrai Himathmal Mansukhani Trust and (2) Principal Khushiram Kundnani & Jotu Kundnani Trust. The Trusts give financial assistance to needy students for education and medical help to those who are not able to afford it.

I have done my B.D.S.(bachelors of dental, surgery)from Mumbai University and my M.D.S.inConservative dentistry and Endodontics from Bangalore University.
Have been in private practice since 2002 and specialize in Cosmetic dentistry and Endodontics (root canals ).
I have also been in academics,and have taught at various dental colleges across Maharashtra.for !0 years.
However, after having two daughters, I found it difficult to balance private practice, academics as well as children and hence, unfortunately I had to give my teaching.
Am looking forward to contributing to the HSNC Board , in whatever way I can

Dr. Shalini Mirchandani

Dr. Shalini Mirchandani is an Orthodontist with a practice of over 23 years in South Mumbai and a satellite practice in Juhu. She lived and practised in the USA for 10 years. Dr. Mirchandani received her DMD and her Post-Doc in Orthodontics at the prestigious Tufts School of Dental Medicine in Boston, where she graduated as the class Valedictorian. Her undergraduate (BDS) was at Dr. Rafique Dental College in Kolkata, where she was a gold medalist for all four years.

She lives in Mumbai with her husband Dinesh Mirchandani, who is the Managing Partner of a global management consulting firm. Her daughter, Ria, is a Product Manager at Microsoft in the US. Shalini enjoys tossing together exotic salads, playing card games and travelling to remote parts of the globe with her adventurous family. She looks forward to bringing the same energy and professional excellence that she is widely known for, to her tenure on the Hyderabad Sindh Board of Trustees.

She is a graduate in English and has been associated with the HSNC Board since 1973 when she joined K.C. College. Whilst at K.C. she looked after the administration of the Board as well since 1980s. However since her retirement from K.C. College, in the year 2003-2004, she has been fully absorbed by the Board’s work and continue to work till date. Besides her administrative responsibilities, Mrs Padma Shah helps/guides Principals of the colleges under the Board with her capacity as the member of this prestigious Board as well as the member of various other sub-committees of the Board. She was nominated on the Board in the year 1991.
